As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Riley van Velthuyzen is passionate about empowering and educating clients to take control of their finances. At Ocean Path Advisors, Riley collaborates closely with the team to deliver highly personalized, holistic financial planning. His expertise spans investment management, tax planning, estate planning, and insurance, which helps to ensure clients have a comprehensive strategy tailored to their goals.

Prior to joining Ocean Path Advisors, Riley worked at a multi-billion-dollar independent Registered Investment Adviser, where he helped build in-depth tax and financial plans for high-net-worth families. He enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and takes pride in forming strong relationships with clients and their families to create financial plans that are focused on helping clients meet and exceed their goals.

Riley earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Pepperdine University. A Southern California native, he is an avid basketball and football fan (rooting for the Lakers and Dolphins), a car enthusiast, and an adventurous traveler. Having studied abroad in Switzerland and with family in the Netherlands, Riley has explored much of Europe and is gearing up for a trip to Japan this fall. His wife’s career as a tour manager adds another exciting layer of travel, allowing him to experience live shows around the world. When at home in Los Angeles, Riley enjoys attending concerts, going on road trips, and playing pickleball.
